As per the study, in U.S. more than healthy you will get overweight children in masses. The effects of this childhood mistake can lead to a massive problem in future. They might go through social isolation, depression, low self-esteem etc. these are mental health what about their physical health. It might be worse than mental one. Asthma, sleep apnea, bone and joint problems, and type 2 diabetes would be the common problem amongst those.


Instead of burning the calories, they must focus on balancing it. Avoid having junk foods and beverages. Diet won’t be the solution for them. Instead of make them have healthier high fibre reach diet into their favorite dish. Let them have plenty of vegetables, fruits, and multi-grain products. In their food, indulge of low-fat or non-fat milk or dairy products. Choose only lean meats, poultry, fish, lentils, and beans for protein. Let them drink lots of water from home-made juices with no added sugar or sweetener.

Additionally, let them do any physical activity they like to do so like from playing in the garden to jumping on the couch. This might be stupid but this makes their physical growth go more strong. This may strengthen bones, muscle, and normal blood pressure, reduce stress, increase self-esteem and last but not the least reduces the weight.

All these processes help them to stay active enough all day long.

Children should contribute in at least 60 minutes of sensible intensity physical activity if possible daily. Remember that children copy adults. So start it from your side, they automatically will do it. And this would be their part of daily routine to join you.

Some examples of sensible physical activity include:

  • Brisk walking
  • Playing tag
  • Jumping rope
  • Playing soccer
  • Swimming
  • Dancing

Reduce inactive time like laptop, mobile or other such activities.

In addition to encourage the physical activity, you must help to come up from screen time. There must be no screen time in a whole day. In fact, they must get only 2 hours for TV, video game or for web surfing etc. if it is followed accurately you might see a vast difference in your child within a month.
